Selling Skills Training | How To Build Trust with Customers
The Importance of Trust
Nobody will buy your product or service if they don’t trust you.
If an unprofessional looking door-to-door salesman arrived on your doorstep, would you buy from him? It’s the same whatever products or services you are selling to whatever customer- that customer must be able to trust you as well as the company you represent.
Then they are much likely to trust your product/service or proposition. Don’t attempt to skip this part of the sales process, because, in many ways, it is perhaps the most important part.
There are so many ways to build trust, of course, and not being a pushy sales person is one of them. Think about what makes you trust someone:
Do what you say you will do.
Demonstrate that you are honest
Be discreet about sensitive information
Clearly show you have integrity
Don’t gossip about other people
Don’t condemn competitors
Be a nice person to deal with
Nothing will turn your customer against you quicker than you demonstrating that you cannot be trusted to keep sensitive or confidential information to yourself.
